A new church for the Woombye region

Bible and Tea

Our Sunshine Coast region is growing, over the next 20 years there will be 150,000 more people calling our region home. To answer these growing gospel needs we’re convinced the Sunshine Coast needs more healthy churches. So we're partnering with churches, organisations & gathering people together to start a tight-knit church that makes more and stronger disciples of Jesus in the Woombye region, all to the Glory of God.

If you’re interested in partnering with us whether joining the group to see this happen, praying with us or financially helping us get established please reach out. We’ll be having information nights and gatherings over the next few months to provide more information and provide an opportunity get around the Bible and pray.

Grace to you,

Hayden & Elisa Walsh,

FAQs

  • Abide Community Church's statement of faith and constitution is still being finalised and reviewed. Our church situates itself within the Evangelical, Baptist and Reformed traditions. We will not expect all future members to embrace all aspects of our theological distinctives, but people should expect that the distinctives will be maintained in all ministry environments.

As a minimum our constitution will reflect the following basic doctrinal statement, while also highlighting our theological distinctives from other faithful churches such as Believers Baptism and a Reformed understanding of salvation.

    We believe in:

    1. The Divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testaments.

    2. The existence of one God in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

    3. The Deity, Incarnation, and virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, the Second Person in the Holy Trinity.

    4. The fallen sinful and lost condition of all people.

    5. The salvation of people from the penalty and power of sin, through the perfect obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His unchanging Priesthood.

    6. The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of people, in their sanctification and in their preservation to the Heavenly Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    7. The necessity, in order to obtain salvation, of repentance towards God and of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

    8. The resurrection of the dead and the final judgement of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ.

    9. The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ - namely, Baptism and the Lord's Supper which are of perpetual obligation. Baptism being the immersion of Believers upon the profession of their Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial, and resurrection; the Lord's Supper being a memorial, until He comes, of the sacrifice of the body and the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • Abide Community Church has been greatly helped by Reach Australia, a church planting network and will be part of the Queensland Baptists denomination. We are also thankful for the help and advice of local churches across the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
